Pixagogo

Pixagogo

Instagram changed their API access in June 2016, so unfortunately the app has been disabled and pulled from the App Store since then

What was Pixagogo?

Pixagogo was a fun and easy way to explore Instagram pictures of places and people nearby or any location in the world.

Browse & Discover

You could browse pictures in your neighbourhood or interesting places around the world such as the Mission District in San Francisco or Soho in London.

A map showed you the exact location of each pic so you can go visit it yourself!

Pixagogo Out

As expected, Instagram has now removed several of their API endpoints, so my Pixagogo app has now been disabled and pulled from the app store.

Not entirely sure why Instagram are doing this, but it’s their ball so they can take it home if they want to.

It was fun while it lasted.

Pixagogo Out.

Pixagogo lives a little longer

Instagram are mostly pulling access to their API in June 2016, presumably so they can show lots more ads to their users.

This means Pixagogo - my app which displays public posts based on location - isn’t going to work any more once the API is pulled.

However, I thought I’d go out with a bang and spent a little time reworking the UI to make it look a LOT nicer and be much more useable.

Version 2.0 is available on the App Store now, so get it while you can!

Some screenshots from the iPhone version, soon for posterity
